How to promote my magazine

I decided to make my music magazine the tenth issue of ‘Radar’, this was done so I could use brand new ideas for my magazine and act as if it had only just come out. However if the magazine had only just come out then certain promotions would need to be done in order for ‘Radar’ to be recognised by my target audience. Firstly, posters would need to be made to advertise ‘Radar’ magazine and would need to promote the things about it that are different to other rock magazines. These posters could be placed on bus shelters, billboards and in other magazines. I think that the best place to put the posters would be in other magazines of the same genre e.g. in Kerrang magazine. This would mean that readers of Kerrang would see ‘Radar’ advertised, which would be useful as the readers of Kerrang are of similar target audience to my music magazine.
Advertisements could also be in the form of T.V commercials which would be useful because this means that the nation would see ‘Radar’ magazine although this could be expensive as it is such a new magazine. I would also need to promote the magazine on Radar.co.uk as it is more likely that people would find the website through things like internet searches rather than the actual magazine.
